QUANTUM PILATES: Pilates as a Process of Inquiry

As you move in the session, your body tells a story. Each Pilates exercise is simply a container for that story to unravel itself. Through form, one transcends limitations. The Pilates apparatus supports and suspends your body. In many of these movements you are in fact putting your body into positions of flight! Taking root to fly! Your body begins to defy gravity with the use of metal springs.You listen and feel inwardly whilst catching my verbal guidance with ease. There is no stress, no task, simply exploration. My role is to guide you whilst reading your body. There is no agenda, simply inquiry.
Together we find pockets of doubt in your body where a sense of safety can be restored and we ask ways to bring the body back to equilibrium of some measure, whether big or small. Those pockets of doubt can look like gripping patterns, compensations, or functional amnesia of some sort. The whole journey is one of self discovery. It requires a whole brain approach where your left brain mechanical intelligence yields to your right brain of creative imagination and big picture awareness.
Throughout this journey patience and trust is cultivated. You don’t “do” the exercise, rather your body informs you of what’s available today and you simply respond and receive. You see, it’s a two way communication where the inner direction takes precedence. The end result is emanation. And what a relief it really is to let go of the left brain, I lovingly call it the Nike brain- "Just do it!' brain- to drop the title of taskmaster for an hour and just get curious, just explore, just be. Without getting caught up in expectations and alignments, we just flow through. The lesson provides the structure in which the magic of transformation is invited to occur.

Your program is a combined curriculum of movement and mindset exploration and they are symbiotic. Programs have a definite start and end point for true sustainability.
